No sirree! Some of us are those accursed Americans too! Like the one below with some of the kids he coached all the way up to college. My son Casey went all of the way to Boston University, a pretty good hockey school, where he played as a centerman.
Me? I played throughout my youth and also at the University of Pittsburgh, where I "majored" more in football and girls than I did hockey! In hockey I specialized in going into the corners, SECOND, if you know what I mean! KEERRRUNCH!
Heh, heh...didn't know THAT about your old Tio, did ya? Seems we might have a bit more in common than the pirate deeds (miss deeds?), eh Sobrino?
Yeah, that's me in the first picture...the one without the cowboy hat. Some picts of my boys when they were little tads. Casey is the one having just taken the shot and going in on the rebound.
The last shot is of Case's best buddy and left winger, Tommy Levis...a danged good one, who is now a high school coach as he and the team celebrate one of their state championships.
I'm real proud of those kids...especially their ability to overcome some pretty shitty coaching and go to the top of their game. A game that I have an abiding love for.
And to this very day, I still hear from most those kids pretty regularly, including good, (now) old Coach Tommy. You can't imagine the joy that brings me.
"Pass that puck!"
