No Rest For The Wicked....
(Sigh...)WHERE TO START?!?!??!?
Like Benji has eluded to in his post, it's been a month of bi-polar ups and downs around here - PV - the spot formerly known as COW TOWN. One day the fish are seemingly cooperative, the next, all but poltergeists taunting us from the sonar screens. I've actually had the best tuna fishing of the last month while i was fishing with Capt Herk aboard the REEL EPIDEMICH - which if you know anything about Herk and his non-love for anything without a bill - this fact seems strangely ironic. What can you do?!?!?!? GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE WHILE YOU STILL CAN! That's what you do.... I agree with you Benji...i hate to turn my back on a beautiful woman...but when the aforementioned lover refuses to put out...well...this dog needs to go sniffing too. So off to Cabo and Socorro we go. I'm jamming to get SALTY loaded up with two months worth of parts and supplies, we're headed out to catch 1,000 goggle eyes this evening, then it's off to Cabo early tomorrow morning, and the distant, seductive, promise of adventure and Socorro Island monday afternoon. We've been harnessed horses for a few weeks now, but our hoofs are itchy. It's time to take a lil stroll...... I imagine we'll find something to neigh about along the way. Stay tuned amigos......more of this madness coming soon!!!!

Like Benji has eluded to in his post, it's been a month of bi-polar ups and downs around here - PV - the spot formerly known as COW TOWN. JT, Does this mean you have managed to catch all tuna's? Now it is off to Cabo to pillage and plunder up there. |

JT, you guys metering the fish deep at all? I saw reports from others saying they are metering them, just not biting?
Have you guys tried doing some deep vert jigging with some of these crazy japanese spinners and jigs? It seems like since i have started fishing there with you oh, lord, maybe 7 years ago, things have just been on the decline each year, and each year it has taken a new technique to add to the repertoire in order to entice these giants to eat. Even if you have the right gear it really is about having the right jigger who knows what he is doing to get these big fish to strike. |
