The Next Evolution...
There's little doubt that this new year is going to offer a lot of surprises. Some i can divulge now, but others are going to remain a mystery until later in the year, for reasons that will become obvious in due time.
First and foremost, we are going to be spending a LOT of time in northern Panama for the next five months. Originally we had planned on utilizing the 67' Pettigrew BOOMER for these endeavors, but my good friend Chris Fischer has recently sweetened the offer. Fischer is widely known for his ESPN show "Offshore Adventures", where he and his family, Capt Brett, and friends have brought world class sport fishing television from remote and captivating locations to living rooms and flat screens around the world. As some of you know, Chris purchased a mothership operation last year and with this acquisition came the ability and potential to take his adventures to a place never dreamed of before. He spent a month here in Puerto Vallarta with us last summer fine-tuning his program before setting off for Central America, Cocos Island, and all manner of spectacular settings in between. We kept in touch over the remainder of the year and i eventually caught up with him and the gang again in Drake Bay, an isolated area north of Golfito, Costa Rica in April, where he and i laid the foundation for an itinerary we hoped to put into action the following year. A Week Where The Monkey Rum Grows...3/18 After sending the boat back to the US to complete some maintenance chores, the crew of the GO FISCH is once again ready to set sail for distant horizons, and the promise of spectacular fishing once more. The first stop will be here in Puerto Vallarta, to pick up a certain fellow madman, and then together we will set a course for northern Panama, near Coiba Island, where we will spend the next five months chasing giant black and blue marlin, and gargantuan tunas in perhaps the greatest location for spring season action anywhere in the world. It's "GO TIME!" on the GO FISCH once again, and i can hardly contain my excitement. Fishing with these guys over the past few years in various locations has taught me one thing, when we get together, magic is oft to happen. I can only imagine what the next five months of adventure will bring. Shoot me an email or PM if you'd like to see just what kind of madness will happen first hand, Chris has been nice enough to allow me to run a few groups through the calendar between TV shoots for our new show. Ooops! More on that later! From PV to Panama, we now have the ability to stay on the action, and chase these giants wherever they roam. http://www.offshoreadventures.tv/

Capt. Josh, Congrats and good luck on your newest adventure! What an incredible opportunity you have there and I can't wait to see and read your reports aboard the Go Fisch!
BTW, Chuck and I will be down in Panama the last week of Feb in Punta Burica w/our friends from the Covert Mission, Jimmy & Sandy. We'll be staying @ the Aqua Adventures Lodge there; this is our first trip to Panama so I'm not familiar w/how close this might be to you guys. We're looking forward to an amazing trip, and oh yeah, the fishing as well!!!!

Capt,
At every turn, you cease to amaze in how you are living the very adventures everyone dreams about. I know it's not all cake, as there is a ton of hard work getting done behind the pics and words here on SFC. Keep it up and thanks for providing us the very porthole of which to watch your adventures unfold. And tell Chris he's doing / has done a great job regarding his show. He'd be a great addition here on SFC as well. Again - thanks for taking the time. |

What happening man? I have a feeling Northern Panama is one of those jewels just waiting to be discovered by the rest of the world and I for one can’t wait to hear about your High Piracy from the area.
In the mean time we’ll heading Nata De Tole to do some fishing with Chad on Jan 18th-25th. To say I ‘m totally stoked would be a bit of an understatement. From reports and others first hand accounts the fishing looks to be spooky good. I’m actually more excited about the inshore fishing for snapper and roosters than I am about the big game. A little birdie told me you might heading down that way around the same time. By the way you’re such a tease…………. |

I'm convinced as you are that the northern Panama area is probably the #1 location from January - June for big tunas, marlin, all around action anywhere. I'm very excited to get down there and spend some serious time sniffin around! Good luck on your trip i'll be right behind you!
