Madeira With Team MIT
We've been working very closely with the crew at Melton International Tackle for the past 5 years now, and as many of you know i can't say enough about the service, knowledge, and experience that Tracy and his crew offer on a day in/day out basis.
While i was in Panama last week i received an email from Tracy inviting me to fish on his newly refurbished 37 Merrit "GRANDER" late this summer in Madeira - needless to say i jumped at the chance. When Tracy emails and says " JT we need to do some product testing, how does Madeira this summer sound?" you reply "HELL YEAH!!! WHEN DO WE LEAVE?!?!?!" as fast as your fingers can type it. Madeira has haunted my daydreams since i first read about the magical destination over 20 years ago in Marlin magazine. Tales of giant Atlantic blue marlin, huge big-eye tuna, and the locations obvious intrinsic appeal kept me secretly hoping that my chance to one day fish Madeira would someday come. Finally, after a lot of silent prayer, this lucky Canexican is getting his shot! If any of you would like more info on this spectacular fishery and it's unique European island location, offering shots at grander blue marlin within sight of the harbor, PM or email me as i have a ton of info from Tracy on excellent charter boats that have plied Madeira's cerulean blue waters for years. It's time to broaden our horizons and take advantage of these opportunities while we can amigos. There's magic just waiting to happen, and granders gobbling super plungers like snickers out there... MADEIRA HERE WE COME!!!!

I concur Matt, can't pass that one up is right. Big J i'll be sure to dedicate the first grander (fingers crossed) to you amigo. And G - if there's blue marlin and bikinis in Ibiza then let the bartering begin!

I will be there in about six weeks for a solid two weeks of fishing mania. I love this place! We will have to hook up, hahaha. You will be running out of Calheta, right?

Nice one...did a part of the season with Capt. Peter Bristow on the katherine B last year. What a place, the pace of fishing, the ridiculous 30 second runs to the grounds, the flat sea and the massive size of the girls is just awesome.
The wine, dining and beauty of the island does not hurt either. If all goes according to plan will do another stint with Peter from mid next June. 'cant wait Hope to meet you there. Cheers |
