Chip,

I believe that I posted this info on this or another site. It had to do with night trolling for swords. The tip came from a man who I'm not going to name here because I'm not sure that he wants it to "go public" or be credited for it, but I will say this - he is by far the best damned swordfisherman I have ever known or heard of.

The trick is simple and probably unbelievable to most, but considering the source, I buy into it completely. Plain and simple he says "Troll dark colored Moldcraft Senior Wide Ranges at eight knots at night. The swords find and eat them big time." No glow in the dark, no sinkers, no nothing. He says to put them wherever you would fish them in the daytime.

There weren't many and we never caught one, but some daytime swords got caught on marlin lures by friends of mine down in Cabo. Not a lot, but some. Then again, there weren't a lot of them caught down there anyway, and many of the daytime fish were snagged.

Having done a lot of night trolling commercial fishing myself, I can tell you this for sure...beware of the bigeyes!
