Canada, what?
Oren and I are flying over the Columbia River as I type this, hovering somewhere around 37,000 feet, we've left the rain, and snow, and otherwise shitty Canadian weather behind once again for the duration of the winter. Its nice and sunny up here above all the clouds, and thanks to the heated cabin and the illusion of better temperatures, my pasty white ass seems warm again FINALLY.
Due to the hundred some-odd trips i've taken with Alaskan Airlines over the years my MVP-Gold elite status affords me automatic first class upgrades and all of the free booze i can drink. I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but treatment like this can sure make you feel like it.
So with inflight wi-fi and a well stocked bar, a few days of R&R in Los Angeles to see Melton and the Pelagic boys, and then a departure for PV on Monday for the duration of the winter there's not much to complain about lately. Oren and I are pumped about the next 3 - 4 months in our southern locations, Mexico, Panama, and perhaps a few other surprises spaced out in between.
With any luck, by this time next week we'll be tanned, surfed out, and headed offshore in search of PV's seemingly endless supply of tunas once again. We've got some new toys like 4 wheelers and dirt bikes waiting for us at the boss' mansion to test out, a few new surfboards to wax up, and a chitload of new tackle and tricks waiting for us in LA from Melton's that we're going to bring down.
All in all i'd say it's official, 2011 is off to a fairly good start!
