Oh man was yesterday a great day of fishing.

2 for 4 on marlin including a release on a blue and a black, then a quick sail for the SLAM.

There's so many sailfish down here it's disgusting. As SteveD says:

"Goddamn sea mosquitos!" and then, "SOMEBODY GET ME A FLY SWATTER!!!"

Then, as if the billfish action wasn't enough, my friend Squirrel (commercial green-stick tuna guy) calls me in on a mother load of nice ones.

Those two fish that Bogii and Steve are holding were caught on one line! Steve got bit on a skipjack by the one he's holding, his fish tears off on it's initial run, somehow managed to tail wrap the fish that Bogii's holding about 200' up the line (i guess there's THAT MANY fish down there) and WHAM both fish come up - much to our surprise. There are a LOT of tuna around here. God only knows how many we caught yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, and on and on. We're saying nightly "hail mary's" into the bait tank in hopes of blessing the little bastards in there as much as we can before the lights go out the next day. It's kinda sad, but so be it.

We did some herculean celebrating last night so we're off to a bit of a slow start this morning. Inshore fishing is the plan for the first half of the day, we figure we should at least do a little bit of that, since today is these guys' last day and there are rumors of 100# roosterfish and pargo around.

Man has this been an incredible week of fishing!!!

    PANAMA!!!

    WE ARE DONE!!!

Worn out, beat-up, generally infected with all manner of calamity accrued over the last six days of spectacular fishing.

I have a nasty staff infection in my ankle that is threatening to go awry, Squirrel nearly had to lance his left thumb off from another gnarly infection of his own. We are suffering from sleep deprivation, alcoholism, sensory shut-down - like i said, all manner of calamity you NAME IT.

But who the hell cares about all that when the fishing is THIS GOOD!!!!

Another biblical day at the altar, more marlin, more tuna.

    Sleep...sleep well. Sleep is good.

Photos and wrap-up to follow manana.
