I've been busy laying out my life for 2011 and beyond for the past few days, and have come up with some career and fishing-orientated goals that I'd like to achieve in the coming year. Nothing like the new year to help remind us of who we are, where we're going, and what dreams we'd like to turn into reality!!!
I'm following some good advice and actually putting this down on paper, for reference purposes and to instil in me a sense of accountability and responsibility to adhering to and accomplishing these goals.
Here's my list for 2011
- Finally finish a novel this year
- Publish 12 magazine articles
- Update my website to re-include Canada operations, Rev island trips, new PV ops, and Panama development plans
- Get my Panama plans off the ground
- Renew existing sponsor contracts and garner new ones
- Refinish my Grady White for the 2011 Salmon/Halibut season in Tofino
- Get certified on CCR (rebreathers) for diving
- Get my gun permits and hunting licenses so that I'm legal
- Sign with a literary agent and publishing house
- Land a book deal
Not an easy list by any means, but a set of goals that I feel I can accomplish with the right combination of hard work, diligence, talent, and good ol fashioned dumb luck.
I'd love to hear some of yours. After all, lord knows there is certainly strength in numbers!
