    Galapagos (picture up-more to come)

The family and I are spending a few weeks here on Santa Cruz in the Galapagos chain. Yesterday we took a half day charter just to get our feet wet as to what really does and doesn't happen around here.

Well much to my pleasant surprise we flat killed the Wahoo up to 60lbs and school sized YFT. Flat wore my butt out in 4 hours even had the wife and kids wore out. I have a feeling the next week will be full of fishing trips. When the wife is writing hall passes all is good. Going to try a few Stripies out tomorrow. I'll post results and possibly pix. Takes forever to send attachments from here.

    Manana!

No striped marlin yesterday, to damn rough. We scratched out one nice YFT. After that we hid behind Islas all day snorkeling with sea lions and pinguens. For lunch we stopped by Floreana for lunch with one of the mates families. Felt like I was on the western front some 100 years ago. We had chickens running around under the table while we ate Wahoo stew and other local fare. Completely off the beaten path. If you've never been here, you should give it a whirl, truly jurassic. I can only imagine what carnage could be created by some of you pros on here.

Pictures coming, just got internet service back after power failure?

Had a decent outing. No signs of bait and no birds but managed 2 nice wahoo, one pushing 60lbs, and a football. What is so cool about this place is that you are only a few miles from the fishing grounds and there are so many different places to fish with all the little islands sticking up around here. I need to move here for a year or two.

Our mate was telling me about an island about 70 miles from Santa Cruz that host big fat YFT all year round. If it wasn't so rough around here or if I could find something bigger than 30' to fish out of I'd give it a go. Oh hell, if I hear someone else talk about the same place in the next couple of trips, I might grow a set and go for it.

That's a funny thing about this place, you ask for the same boat and same crew but each day it changes? Guess they spread the love amongst each other. Not all of them have the same "Seek and Destroy" attitude as me though, so that's about the only gripe I have.

All good things must come to an end

We took our final charter this morning and fished the Gordon Rocks. Once again wahoo on top of wahoo only up to 30lbs today. School sized tuna one after another. We had one small striped marling in the spread but he wasn't to interested in eating what we had out. After 5 hours of fishing we snorkeled with some sea lions once again and ate lunch on the boat with a perfect back drop to gaze in wonder at. This place is unreal, I may have to plan a trip back in Jan/Feb when they say the real action happens.

It will be next week before I can post any pictures but stay tuned I have a plenty.
