For those of you who asked to see the original pictures from the first construction of the Frantic Pace, follow the link to Picasa below..Once again I was unable to bulk upload pics.
For reference, the project was done in Croyden Pa over a 3 year period. The boat was originally a 1973 48' Pacemaker Sportfish. It had been stretched 4 feet longer all in the cockpit in 1980 before I purchased her, all engines and running gear remained in original position, now 4' forward of the extended stern. . When I purchased the boat, I completely gutted her down to bare hull. I added 6.5 feet to the Cockpit cabin ceiling, backed up the cockpit/salon bulkhead 2.5 feet, and then blew out the bridge and windows to fit the longer salon. All work including the installing rebuilt 10 cyl Man engines, backing up all underwater gear 4' to the stern, wiring, fiberglass, wood work, plumbing, AC in fact everything except for welding the aluminum hardtop supports, rebuilding the Man engines and splashing on the paint was personally done by me. When finished she topped out at 35 knots, cruising 28.5 knots a 1950 rpms. She is a bit slower now with the common rail engines I installed in 2008.
Herk, I've only fished with you once on JT's 40 Cabo. After seeing the photos of what you did to your boat, now I know why you know everything about boats from the inside out.
Great job! Also, your new paint job on the Frantic Pace looks fantastic. LJ
