    Chad,
Tofino was off the hook.......springs biting full speed. We caught about 60 springs up to 28lbs, most around 20lbs, in 2.5 days......toss in as many lings and huge Vermillions as one could ever want......to put it lightly, we killed it.....so much fun and such a beautiful place. We couldn't have timed that bite any better. JT will post a full report and picks shortly.

    chasing tuna

....and now Maximo come hall'in-A by...perhaps the tuna season is finally getting off to a start.

Those of us who are hanging out waiting for the fishing to get going could certainly use a timely report...hint, hint, hint...

Herk and i both had a tough day out there today. We developed generator issues on the Maximo shortly after the starting gun, managing one dorado on the run back to the marina. Herk and the boys got a large dodo and then jumped off or lost a black, wahoo, and tuna respectively.

Not the best of days but you can't win them all. Hopefully we get this generator issue sorted out in the next 24 hrs because i am dying to do some serious big game fishing!!!

We started the day with a 40 lb dorado, moved westward and raised a black on the teaser, switched him over to a lure when all hell broke loose. He crossed 2 lines, Charged the boat, shot acrooss the other 2 lines, and ended up cutting the leader on the spectra. we then had a lure bitten off buy a toothy critter. We continued westward, where we hooked a tuna, and the 100lb braid line failed, and we were down 3 lures. Finally raised a sail on the long left, but could not get a hook in him. So basically we had pretty good fishing with pretty bad catching. At least the Frantic Pace has been doing its job of raising fish. We also fished Sunday and caught a 40 lb tuna and raised another billfish. Spent some time at El Banco on both days, where there was little or no bait. Water is pretty enough, but not much bait around.
