    Dancin Days Are Here Again...8/13

Well everyone i wish i had the time right now to sit down and record this madness on paper...god knows this kind of fishing certainly deserves labored recognition and olympian worship...but alas...there be no time...

Thank god for the wonders of digital photography and the instant gratification it brings...becasue when the fishing is off the charts...when all HELL BREAKS LOOSE AND THE DIAMONDS TURN TO DUST...and the captains, crews, and anglers are reaching real deep to keep up with it...a simple photo...thank god...will often do in place of an otherwise long-winded, rum-fueled tale...

So pour a cuba libre or crack a frosty cold one and enjoy the stories hidden behind each one of these beauties...all taken yesterday...when the fishing was so good that bait was indeed unnecessary...and we just plain gave up after a while...opting to swim with the dorado and hitch a ride on a turtle instead...

13 tunas from one porpoise school...hammering mauraders and marlin lures with abandon...including one tuna that JUMPED near the boat for Tor...check out the photo below...3 dorados from a trash line and rainforest tree-top which held over 100 dorado...hence the swimming and turtle riding...and 1 for 3 on black, blue and striped marlin...and if you look close one of the photos show the striped marlin actually free swimming around the boat trying to eat the dorado Tor is fighting...we caught the dorado and then pitched the striper a bait and taught that marlin a thing or two about trying to outrun my Cabo...

Yes my friends...it don't get much better than this...

Thanks guys! the fishing was a bit slower yesterday we only had one shot at a blue marlin and went 2 for 10 on tunas...not sure what the hell we ate for breakfast but it gave us the shanks...double bogi's all day long...we couldn't land a fish to save our life!!! you name it it happened...broken brand new leaders, pulled hooks...we even had a swivel break...how often does a 400# swivel break????

We're off today to get some maintenance and cleaning up done and then out the rest of the week with the film crew and some of the boys from Team Pelagic...tournament this coming weekend et al...lookin forward to it!!!!

Well it's now well past midnight here and we've survived the run in from the point and one hell of a life-threatening thunder cracker on the way home...Steve called from the 4-Seasons to tell me the palapa roof was nearly ignited when a massive hair cinger jackhammered the structure with enough tenacity to throw sparks deep into the night...

There's a lot of energy around right now...blue and black marlin snapping over a 100 mile area for the boys and i today...despite lackluster water conditions there were enough dorado and medium sized tunas around to keep things interesting out there...Juan had a killer day releasing two black marlin over 500#'s in water not unlike the Misissippi...a lot of things went against the grain out there today...for whatever reason...

Mrs. Big Guy suceeded in releasing another blue marlin today with us on the Conquistador...raising her stats to 3 for 3 on as many excursions...God bless the Red Devil Bikini and the rest that goes with it...we had the DVD cameras rolling again and the fish put on one hell of a show...before and after it ate the Marlin Magic Ruckus...NEARLY suicide marlin take 2...add that to the other shots we had at marlin in the morning and the sailfish milling around in the deep and we'll call it a fair to middlin performance...if only because this is PV...where one marlin per day is just the ante...

Tomorrow we sleep in...or try to...and put the pieces back together in time for the tourney this weekend...

Hope you guys are gettinum out there...

    Pendulos...
