Hey guys what kind of wiring gloves do ya'll use for those big marlin and tuna? A lot of guys use welders gloves with some of the orange fish glvoes over top here on the west coast, wondering what ya'll do over there?
Peter B Wright edition Aftco Bluefever Wiremax gloves with a pair of orange gloves over the top is the easiest fix. Both are easy to find and cheap.
If you are wiring a lot of big fish you could invest in a pair of gloves that are custom made for you. That way the gloves are a perfect fit and you get to specify where the padding is placed.

Cold modelo all the way from the cockpit to the tower in Maximo
I wire almost everything with just a pair of pelagic big game gloves. Usually this is plenty. although I did have a marlin smoke a pair and melt a hole right through them when I foolishly only put a single wrap on it. Literally tendrils of smoke rose from them much to the clients delight. Always double wrap. for anything real big I will put a pair of orange cotton gloves over the top.
