    cabo info?

We will be in cabo from the 19th to the 28th We have an offshore boat for 3days. I thought I might take a couple jig rods. Any suggestions on jig types sizes and colors. I thought we might try to catch some yellowtail off the rocks maybe at the end of the day on our offshore boat, panga or some rental kayaks. We have some jigs mirror lures and spoons. Do you need a permit to fish with a rental kayak?t

any info would be much appreciated maybe someone with a panga that might know about the yellowtail fishing I know these fish were there this time of year when we were there 3yrs.

    thanks jeff

You are definitely going to need a fishing permit for any kind of fishing you'll be doing down there. You can obtain one online from Conapesca, but good luck trying to figure out their online forms and system. Here's the link anyway - http://www.conapesca.sagarpa.gob.mx/...ca_de_fomento_

As far as jigs go, butterfly, Tady's, just about anything will work. A pretty reliable spot for yellowtail is right off the Arch, and in the past few years there has been some excellent fishing off the tip for wahoo, yellowtail, yellowfin, and groupers. Contact my good friend Capt Tony Berkowitz he's lived in Cabo for over 25 years and knows what's going on down there on a minute by minute basis. He keeps an office, San Lucas Yacht Sales & Charters right next to Cape Marine. His email is sanlucasyacht@prodigy.net.mx

Good luck and post up a report when you get back!
