    Ambush Marlin x2

Well...our baby Ambush finally got a blue and not just one but 2 this past weekend! Been a long time coming and we're all very excited. The weekend was pretty crazy with Ambush running 2 trips after the first ended in a serious medical emergency. A wahoo attacked one of the guys and left a large cut that forced them to turn around and haul-*** back to port the first morning of fishing. Our guy is doing as good as can be expected and will be having surgery tomorrow to re-attach two tendons. No bueno but it couldve been much worse.

After he was dropped off and taken to the hospital, Francisco and Chad got a couple hours of r&r, then Daniel showed up and off they ran to the shelf once again just the 3 of them. Daniel hooked something serious that night when swordfishing as the other guys were crashed out so he ended up fighting the fish 2 hrs alone when finally it spit out the spanish mackerel and came unbottoned. Soon after came first light and out the lures went, by 830am they had a successful release of a NICE blue marlin reviving the fish in reverse after a ballistic show and some hard driving. Shortly after that and coming up to a rip too good to be true out go the lures again and there goes successful release blue marlin #2. Followed by more wahoo and a then NICE bull dolphin. Fishing is on fire in the Gulf of Mexico!

Special thanks go out to Makaira Pulling Lures and Justin Roper, his marlin lures are world class and the only lures bit by all of the fish on this trip.

I joined Capt Brian on a charter saturday/sunday and ended up with a ton of different goodies and fortunately we got to play with some billfish also going 1-3 on sails. We came in with several large tile fish, a few snowy grouper, few yellow edge grouper, some long tail bass, a couple yellowfin tuna, and a boat limit of all kinds of snapper.

Here's a short little clip of the double on sails and some pics from the rest of the weekend:

Surgery went well, ended up being 6 tendons that were cut/damaged on his foot. Hopefully its a lesson to all. Think the blue dogs liked the scent of his blood though! Stuck on land for the weekend and about to lose it with how good things are out there..

I just showed that pic to my kids this morning, told them this is what happens when you go barefoot offshore. They said, "EWWWWWWWWWWW....NASTY!!!"

I hear you on the stuck on the dock part Anthony. I blew up my 225 on my Grady yesterday and had to drop the $$$ to buy a new one. Should be up and running again by this afternoon. Not how I wanted to start the season, over $20K in the hole, but what the hell, it's only tens of thousands of dollars.

    Shoot me now please...

Pretty full plate up here. Fishing a tournament this weekend (hopefully if my engine gets done in time!!!) salmon and halibut on a steady diet until the first week of July, then it's off to PV for a week on the Maximo, then back to Tofino, then to the Dean River for a helicopter steelhead trip 1st week of August, then back to Tofino, finish up the salmon and halibut season until mid-sept, then up to the Nass and Skeena for a month of steelheading, then back to Panama and Mexico for the winter. No rest for the wicked!!!!

Well say no more JT...looks like we'll be coming over to your neck of the woods! I'll get you more specific dates in the next couple days.

The drive from Calgary to Vancouver looks like it could be an adventure in itself, may skip that to save a day...any airline u recommend for flying to Vancouver?
