anybody have luck kite fishing for big tuna in porpoise schools????

Hi guys...thanks for the kudos...i'm stoked you guys took something away from this read! I just got back from an amazing week of fishing between Puerto Vallarta and Cabo on a 150' Christiansen "PRIMADONNA"...DAMN! this is going to be a KILLER report coming up!!!!

I can't comment on kite fishing for giant bluefin as i've never done it but i do have commercial fishing friends in Canada who target the giant bluefins with kites so it definitely works for them!

Regarding fishing the kite on porpoise schools it is possible but given the nature of the porpoise school fishing i think the speed at which most schools move negates the ability to really fish the kite properly...we have trolled baits below the kites around porpoise schools and yes...it definitely does work...but i'd concentrate on picking the fish off on lures and fly-lined baits before i broke out the kite as a last resort...

Shoe I would put a small blue fish hooked thruogh the nose, the same way we did the mullut down here. You should be able to skip one of those at low speed.
