    Thumbs up 150+ Tarpon Tampa style



    Got out for my second trip on Tarpon...this time it was on and after an hour and a half of waiting for the tide to start ripping we started drifting the skyway bridge...only took 3 drifts before my boy Matt was hooked up!!! I jumped on the throttle and ran the boat for about 45 minutes playing stay on top of the Tarpon until she came boatside for the release!! What a fricken awesome experience and a beautiful fish!!

    anyone know why the vimeo link doesn't work? I have tried it several times and made sure the whole embed link is copied?

    Get it on a threadfin or crab? I was out there last weekend and went 0-1 on threads. Didnt see any crabs. Saw 2 others caught.

    Thats a large one!

    Hey biscuit! I used a t-shirt...I have never held a tarpon...much less a huge one...didn't know what to expect

    That was only my second Tarpon trip ever!!

    Hey Logan,

    Forgot all the pertinent info..lol

    We had to sabiki threadfin's on the dolphins at the span, after we got about 25 we were on the hook with no action waiting on the tide..

    finally the tide starting running good and on our third drift we got hooked up. We were drifting just north of the span in about 25 feet of water. I was live lining using 50lb braid and 50lb leader and a 6/0 Gamakatsu Circle hook, and my buddy Matt was using same except he had a float on. I got smashed but it didn't stick and then he got killed about 15 seconds later and it sure was pretty seeing that fish launch 10 feet from the boat!!!!

    Only saw one other one caught sunday as well
