Thanks to all for the feedback and the advice via PM. I think I will pass on the canyon run 1st day, but will try to take a shot offshore next week. Boat arrives tomorrow, will have to break it in with striper fishing.....

Ran the boat this weekend. Very impressed with seakeeping. We went to Nomans in a steady 15 knot breeze out of the NE with higher gusts and stayed dry and comfy at all speeds. As we were crossing Vineyard sound we stopped at some diving birds and started getting wet as the hull settled into the whitecaps at idle. We were all surpised at how rough it actually was out. Bombing along I would have guessed 1-2 ft chop where i think it was likely double that. Interesting (to me) the boat seems to run better the faster you go.
Here are the initial perf #s from memory fully loaded w/ 460 gallons fuel, fishing gear and 4 big guys: 4500 RPMs - 34-36 knots (not a MPH guy myself but this should be 37-40PMH). - 24-29 GPH (seemed to vary according to Zuke guages) WOT 6000 RPMs - 46 knots, 46 GPH As the engines limber up I hope to gain a little more speed, and will report bakc when I burn off some fuel and run it light (YF saw 55MPH @ seatrial). |
