YELLOWFIN 23...WHO HAS ONE?

Looking real hard at the Yellowfin 23. Who can offer info (pro's and cons)? I would like to know how it handles 2-4's at a short period, speed, fuel consumpion & range. How does it troll, and drift? (stable or does it rock). As far as power, what's on the back and would you have done it different.

Looks like a nice hull and bow for longer runs (which we make) and I know they are a quality product...just want some real world experience.

Thanks

Call Reed at "Aquatics Safaris" in Wilmington, NC tomorrow. Their telephone number is 910-392-4386. He has a 23' Yellowfin for sale, powered by twin 200 hp Suzukis. Awesome ride. He's moving up to the new 32' Yelowfin is building.
Also check on "TheHullTruth.Com" in the "boats for sale" forum. You can get his phone number from there and I believe he has some pictures posted there as well. Good luck, Keith

I don't own one but a friend does and I have fished it. It runs like a bear in a big swell. This guy has 2 speeds, stopped and on the pin. We ran in a 4" swell at 29 kts and it was almost comfortable.( I am 62 and NO CC is comfortable). I was impressed with the boat. He has a 250 Yammie 4 stroke for power and it is plenty.

Yellowfin

I have a 36' YF -- if you want to speak to Rob Carmicheal ( The Northeast rep) 978-808-0347 knows more about Yellowfins than anyone North or Fla. Great guy to know if decide to get one anyway.

Thanks for the contacts guys. I spoke with both Reed & Rob. Both were very helpful. Reed's boat sounds and looks great...If someone is interested, they should check it out. I, most likely will go new if I go this way.

Thanks again.

I will tell you one thing about all the Yellowfins I have ridden on.... The faster you go the better they ride. Well to a certain point within safety limits, all things break when pushed to the limit constantly. 23 Yellowfin definately rides better than a 23T Contender or 23 Regulator. 23 Yellowfin w/ Twin 200 HPDI Yamaha, fully loaded 1.8MPG at 4200 RPM. IMO The 34 and 36 are by far the best ridding center consoles I have ever been on. Great mix of speed and ride comfort that is not found in most brands today. But they are PRICEY!!!
