Mine are bonded to a transom plate zinc... we have a rough marina for electrolysis here and in jersey. I get six months if I'm lucky... That prop speed might reduce metal contact with water and slow that down some.

Shaft zincs also take a beating... four months usually...
This year I got my zinc from a friend that was supposed to last 2 years the shaft zincs look good after this year as well as the stern plate and the trim tabs. Only the rudder zincs didn't make it through. They were normal ones from the Marina store
Well the window finally opened for the final coats of paint a couple days ago. The boot looks spectacular. Had rain for a couple days so we couldn't get the tape glue off. I did a thorough clean up though up top in the rain. The word mud comes to mind what I washed off.
I use a scale of how really dirty something is. I base it on how many times I had to work over an area and how many cleaners I had to use to get it right. This one was a 4 x4 so thats pretty dirty. I've had as bad as 6 x 6 though when we had no wax on transom and ran down from jersey.
I had surgery yesterday and was in no condition to do anything other than stick my face in a bucket of ice... Wasn't a whole lot better this morn but went on down and finally finally got er done! Flipped on the battery charger for the 24v system and ran through all the 12 and 24v systems. All checked good. Slapped some bottom paint around here and there. Lifted and covered those spots where the blocks and stands were.
Think I heard the girl sigh "ahhhhh" as she got wet. First push of the buttons the sleepy detroits came to life. Crowded around the sling I backed her out and to my new way great slip. No leaks, no drips, no mess no fuss no muss. Good to go...![]()
Whats that sound? Holy crap! Its the sound of quiet. No power tools, no bangin, no heavy machines moving around... Had a delightful day of just doing stuff. Straightening up, loading dock boxes, taking stuff back to the room of death and bringing more stuff to the boat.
The phone rang and it was the boss man. He wasn't keen on staying home with a blizzard comming so he took a last minute seat on a flight and is winging his way down. My gosh its good to back on the water. Two boats to choose from for the weekends fishing... May still use the 31 as its easier but the option is there to use either...![]()
Glad to hear she is back on in the water Deep. Now go get her bloody or fly some flags......
