Yamaha attempts to spur 2008 sales

KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine Group has launched its “Why Wait? Buy Now” sales promotion designed to encourage customers to buy today, the company said in a release this morning.

The promotion provides the purchasing consumer a choice of either a 3-year Y.E.S. contract, or a credit based on MSRP towards the purchase of goods and/or services available at the authorized participating Yamaha Outboard dealer that sold the outboard, at no extra cost to the purchasing consumer.

“We want to help our customers take advantage of the last few weeks of warm weather,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha Marine Group division manager marketing. “A new Yamaha outboard with the Y.E.S. extended warranty adds value they are sure to appreciate.”

The promotion is available for eligible new outboards sold, delivered and warranty registered by authorized participating dealers from Sep. 18, 2008 through Dec. 1, 2008.

The promotion supports a range of new Yamaha outboards including 50-350 HP four strokes, 150-300 HP HPDI two strokes, and 50-150 HP carbureted two stroke models, provided they were manufactured since April 2005. hmm...Will they take a trade-in of a carbed 150 two stroke with only 200 hours on it for a new four stroke at whatever horsepower weighs less than the two stroke?

Uh, I should mention the two stroke has some sand in it....

Sorry to hear what you guys have went thru with the storms.

There are some dealers that take trades with motors but its like finding a needle in a hay stake. For the sand that sucks!
