Yamaha Motors 4 Stroke 25'' Shaft or 30'' Shaft?

Sorry for another post guy's. I'm buying my motor next week, I'm confused on the the shaft size. I have a 25ft C/C would would be best for a boat like this? Also I was looking at the Yamaha 300HP 4 Stroke. A yamaha Mechanic told me to stay away from the 300HP cause they have been having a lot of problems. Is this True? So I was leaning towards the 250HP. Advice anyone?

It depends on how your motor bolts to your boat. On the 24' Hydra Sports I had, it had a 25" shaft.

On a boat with trips, I see 25"'s on the outside and a 30" in the center.

It all depends on the application it is going on...

specs would be good, to start with or call the factory if they are still in business, not the dealer

If you get me the specs i know a few boat builders I can either answer it myself or get that info with one email
