Yamaha F 115 help
I have 2 F 115 on my boat and neither will start. When you hit the key the engine makes a clicking sound kind of like a dead battery. I replaced the batteries and the starter will push up into the flywheel, but doesn't seem to have enough power to spin the flywheel. Engines ran fine when I put them away in the winter, now won't start. Anyone have any ideas?

Crab mustard is good
I am sure you cleaned the cable ends at the battery but did you check the connections at the block and starter? Sometimes they can work loose.
But because you are having the same problem with both engines I think the problem may be deeper, Is there corosion on the battery switches?
Did you try jumping the solonoid on the starter? Maybe the key switch is not sending enough power? Not likely if the bendix is popping up.
I would look for a loose or coroded connection.

Here is what I have done so far. Cleaned terminal ends at the battery. Cleaned the terminal ends at the battery switch. Took both starters off the engines to check the wires and connections. Put starters back on the engines making sure all the wires are tightly connected and clean.
When I jump the starter directly to a battery I can get the starter to spin the flywheel.
The weird thing is when I hit the key there is a clicking noise back by the fuel injectors. When I turn the key to start it engages the bendex, but doesn't seem to have the juice to spin the starter. It is strange that it is on both engines, I think I have good clean tight connections everywhere. My next step is to connect the battery directly to the starter with a short lead. I'm thinking there is a short in the wire from the battery to the starter. Any other ideas?

Ok I figured it out.
Port side problem: The wire that went from the battery to the battery switch was corroded inside of the casing. Replaced the wire and that one is good to go.
Starboard side problem: The battery switch itself went bad. Replaced the switch and the wire for good measure. Now that one is good to go.. So I am back in business!
