If you repower with the same horsepower four stroke motors your fuel consumption should be some where between 30 to 50 percent better depending on how you run the boat. www.kingmarineoutboard.com

    225 4 strokes

The 225 4 strokes will fit on the 2870 Pursuit. You will burn approximately 20 gals per hour running around 28 mph. Can't remember how many rpm s we turn at that speed but you will have plenty of tach left if you want to run faster. They are quite and don't smell. We run 40 to 50 miles out, troll all day and run back in on 80 to 100 gals.

Can't beat them. I have heavy Hydra Sport which runs great with twin 225F
Quiet and they love to be ran. Spoke to a rep from Yamaha who said they are designed to be run to death. I dont run them like that all the time for fuel reasons obviously. Don't be afraid to run them, they love it.

How many hours do you have on the 2 strokes? I don't have any personal experience but the general consenus is the 225 Yami's are dogs. You may bet better off with Zukes or 250 Yami's. If you think you'll save enough money to recoup the price of new 4 strokes you're stoned. Even if you saved $3000 a year it's more like a 15 year break even point due to the value of money now vs the value in 10+ years.
