XM weather base packages and terms
Would like to add XM weather to my Garmin 4208. Want the basics for rain, lightning to track summer storms. Is it possible to have short term packages without annual contracts, and how much should I expect to pay per month?
I am getting a lot of unadvertisedXM discount deals e-mail to me for radio, but do not know if these exist for weather packages. Any discounts if you combine XM weather and radio? |

I am not sure the answer but I am pretty sure that there is a lot of people out there with this feature.
Wonder if there is an XM lurker on the site since they are a sponsor of the site? I have seen it in action and its great but I have never called to activate one tho |

Here's a link to the XM weather web site.....
http://www.xmradio.com/weather/ma_service_pricing.xmc I have the Master Mariner package and love it. It has helped me avoid t-storms and really get a sense of what's REALLY going on despite what NOAA is predicting. When you sign up, you pay a one-time activation fee....it was $50 when I signed up three years ago....not sure what it is now. You can suspend your service in the winter months and then reactivate in the spring for no additional activation charge. I wouldn't leave the dock without it these days.

Very happy with XM weather
What jd5652 said. I love the XM weather - got the middle of the road package, $29/month activate/de-activate when you want to. With all the thunderstrorms we've had this month alone it's been worth its weight in gold.

Does anybody know the difference in the sirius weather and the xm weather. I just looked at the sirius weather and its 29.99 a month and $50 activation. Looked like they got the same information.

I hate to bash a sponsor especially being its my first post but I had a lot of problems with their billing dept. First year I was able to reactivate after the winter without paying another $50 but last year they told me that I could not reactivate without paying. Also after canceling my subscription last fall I continued to get bills all winter, lucky for me my credit card company helped me out. Do a search on "XM Billing Problems" its not pretty.
