    Exclamation WOW!34 Venture with trip.300vrods!

While I believe that the new Venture tournament is better suited for all around fishing via flat decks all around and forward coffin box.I am not at all impressed with the #'s They tested it and said it topped out with trip 300v rods at 62.4mph and was burning about 90gph and said its most respectable cruise was about 32mph at 21gph.I ask you this? what would be the benefit of triple engine application for this boat? When it would be better suited for two motor application.Just having A hard time understanding Venture logic.

triple verados on this boat, the advantage ??? knowing that you're got 3 chances of getting home...

    seriously,
pushing triples looks impressive, the speed is very cool too,but if you ask me,it's really kinda stupid.it's the "in thing" now to have triples.it's what the market wants, just like how the market wants 4 stroke outboards.marketing,it's a wondeful thing

At 62.4mph and burning 90gph closest canyon run for me is the baltimore 100gallons out/100 gallons back,20 gallons trolling.220 gallons total X3.00per gallon if we are lucky by summer = $660.00 plus lunch, bait, ice, oil, wear and tear on boat and anglers no thankyou!

Or at A cruise of 32mph @ 21gph 45 gallons out/45 gallons back and 20 gallons trolling = 110 gallons total=$330.00 plus lunch, bait, ice, oil and wear and tear on both boat and anglers which wont nearly be as extreme as doing 62mph across the atlantic!

Point I am making is that with twin 300-350hp outboards your going to get the same final cruise out of it without the added cost of and added motor, added weight, added maintanance of additional outboard along with an added battery and what not.Lets face it Venture is no race boat but A strickly hard core fishing boat so why are they trying to compeate against the big boys??Fountain,Yellowfin,Invinsible and many others?JM2C

I wish I did not need trips but fact is I can not see myself running a center console over 30 foot on 2 ever again.

Way to much weight for 2 motors.
Canyon trips, bait, ice, people, big waves, trims down 4 to 6 humans way to much weight over time for 2 motors.

I speak from exp. 3 motors I loose one im coming home on 2 at 30 knots. 2 motors im coming home at 6 to 8 knots.

If I lived way closer to the fishing grounds then yes 2 motors I would consider. 80 MILES one way ill take 3.

I can relate! But outboards have come along way since 5years ago or even two years ago for that matter,I would think 350hp x 2 would push pretty much anything from 30'-36' center console wise.unless you of course are A SPEED FREAK!!! which I suppose you and I both are.But in regards to the 34venture TE I couldent see it being much of A differance with even top end between trip300 and twin350's and not at all A differance in cruise speed aspects. But you are right about coming in on one motor vs two but theoredicly your not suppose to encounter those types of problem when A boat is new or close to new.lol please excuse me if I spelt theoredicaly wrong!haha

I had the oppertunity to run a 33 contender this summer for a week in CA. I will no doubt say I was overly impressed with the power of 2 Yam 350's/
But one of the first things I did was shut down one motor and tried to see what speed I could push.

I was not impressed, to a lot of people this may not be a big deal.
To me it is like life or death to my brain.

In 2004 I had twin motors on my 33 hydra sport.
6 knots home from the canyon over 10 times.
A full 70 mile minimum run each time.
I think we had a couple times from around 30 miles.

Now of course we can say it was the motors that let you down. Yes it was BUT mentally the 6 knot ride is not worth it to me. Ill take the head aches of 3 motors any day of the week on these style boats in the North East.
As after a couple trips at 6 knots you start to loose your will to even want to fish out in the canyons.

But I can say I can not see my self with trip 300 or 350's or ever considering 4.
I am married and not looking to get laid "well always looking to get laid but by the wife,, ahh you know what I mean...

Twin diesel is my next move, getting old these days need hot coffee, micro wave, bed and satellite internet . I see it in my future.

If going all those distances with twins.I would just take an extra counter and standard rotation set of props with me this way if you where to ever encounter that problem again you wouldent be doing 6 knots in. You would be doing more like 20knots,just giving an example but you know what I mean not that hard to change A prop on the water if you know what your doing and will add A lot of speed if you get into trouble! problem with most twin engine boats is it is tough to get them on plane and keep them on plane in rough conditions.Hence they are proped for twins!
