Finally finally at last at last someone got off there butt and did it!! Yanma had a small 35hp that cost the earth and as far as I can work out they are going to drop it, spoke to the guys at the Southampton boat show to see if there was any developments, size wise and basicly told to go to that place were the fire always burns, and girls are real naughty. This will be such a major break through for EU country's never mind the good old US of A this is actually a world wide break through, it will blow open the whole o/b market, as a lot of marinas over here do not pump "GAS" but only diesel, towing your rig to the local gas station is a pain if your boat is on the water all the time haul out etc plus a whole new range of boats will be Viable BRING IT ON

    Wink

Now to wait for those (likely) astronomical prices to drop to a more reasonable range, and some varied hp range. I'm dying to find out the prices. Whatever the price is, I'm guessing those guys at Marine Engineering Group will have a waiting list the size of a phone book.

Could be--- At the rate fuel is going, I'm focusing my R&D on how to put outriggers on a blow boat.

My first observations were alot of "yea buts". Then I got to thinking about 12-15 years ago when the concept of 4-stroke gasoline outboards were discussed--- " won't happen", "they'll never catch on","too heavy","will cost too much","not enough torque possible", ....

One thing about mankind is that necessity is indeed the mother of all invention.

I wish this capital venture project well.
