Winter Boat Show Favorites

Seeing if anything stood out that really cuaght your eye. At the AC show in NJ the none tower Buddy Davis took the cake for me. It is such a great looker, but it sure has a heavy price to go along with it. As usual it was great to see all the nice CC out there that I like. This list for me is Regulator, Contender, Hydrosport, Sea crafts, and Parker. They are all different, but I really like them all for different stiuations. I still think the nicest looking lines out there for a CC has got to be Regulator!! My.02

That b.davis is one sweet hull. I spent most my time looking at boats that wouldn't require winning the lotto. Really liked the layout of the 34 pursuit CC, and the Palmetto's are really nice.

Yeh I here yah...I like them too. The Palmettos weren't tat bad either. Heres something that may get some people fired up. I didn't have much time to check out them all but Contender and Reg were two that I did spend time with. I am sure this will get some attention, so here it goes. my standards are pretty high, but I was shocked upon close inspection of the 24 and 23 Regulators that they had there at the show, in particular, the wiring job, just pull back on the cover inside the console and you find a little mess of wiring, poor fusing, not to mention there were some automotive style fuses. I was also dissapointed with the rub rail not being smooth. Also whats up with the tape boot stripes. I was expecting better since this was a 85,000.00 single engine center console.
They do a good job in the glass and finish department I'll give them that. I hope that they compare themselves to other manufacturers and find these areas wher they can improve. I'm not trying to mess with them but I just have very high expectations for them because they are my favorites small CC out there.

I had the same exact thoughts, after inspecting them at last years boat show. Also wasn't very impressed after taking a good look at the Seacraft's last year. For the price of these boats, every detail should be perfect!

Hey LT what mods are you to the boat this year or you all setup now? We trolled around the contenders for awhile and I really still like them. The seem to be so nice to fish out of but wonder how that drift is. Remember that Conch we saw in marathon pulling out of the gas docs. I love to see one of them up close. Maybe at the miami show I'll get to see on. I'll take some pics for you. That might of been Parker21 with me that day i can't remember?

No man, I didn't see the Conch. Must of still been passed out from the late night in key west! I know they are really nice though. Has lots of room.
I can't comment on the Contender, never fished in one, but seeing them running and jumping around on a couple at boat shows, they seem bad ass.
Not sure if there is anything else I can add to my boat, except for a top and enclosure. But those things are for pussies..nothing like getting wacked with heavy spray for a two hour ride home Or running in late december when its 12 degrees out

We spent time looking at all the 30' plus center consoles that were at the AC show, and really liked the layout and look of the 33' Hydra Sports the best. Great looking, very fishable platform.

Its definately nice and has a descent layout for the most part. See I'm new to these larger boats and my styling is changing. But then you look at the prices and it can change you ideas of boating prety quick. If I had my choice right now for a big CC, I would pick the 36Contender. It is no thrill all open bow with tons of room. The wiring is perfect IMO and damn nice looking and clean. All in all the construction is really good. We checked out the fountain, reg, Hydra, and others. I would say bang for buck you can't beat the Hydra. Nice lines, seaworthy. It has that bit of flare to help pop up the bow, solid, and clean. It does also have that extra sstorage over contender. The fountain looks like a bullet, a major dislike for me, and the reg....well I'm not a multi. millionare!

Hydra Sport

tackletrap, I checked them out and while they're all really nice, the Hydra Sports caught my eye the most. It's got lots of deck room without too many level changes, great operating setup behind the helm, and has a lot of nice touches for fishing. Like I said though, they were all very nice boats.
