not 100% sure but i think the widest point would be the beam measurement. i think it does happen to be the stern in alot of cases.
Generally taken at the widest point. This is the one that matters for a slip, or for highway rules.
Widest point... In the case of beamy wimmins that measurement almost always is taken at the ass...![]()
The beam is measured at its widest point, which is right at amid ship. Right in front of the helm areas of most express boats.
Thanks GUYS!!! Bought a project boat here on the site some time back and I have now started planking it.Tryin to get a good understanding of how the plans relate to the actual measurements Im seeing. Couple of buddies had said the beam was in regards to the stern width but that didnt make sense when comparing the plans. Makes more sense now!!
Soon as I get a few planks on her, Im gonna start a thread with the pictures.
Believe me, Im gonna need some help!! Ever heard the saying "it takes a whole village to raise a child"?
Well, its gonna take the whole sportfisherman.com village to help me raise this girl!! Look out for many questions in the future! Thanks Again.![]()
glad to see you are finally getting started. The frame has a very nice shape to it.
Post away....
Man, I though this post was about Bourbon.
I like Beam, but prefer Blantons, Turkey Rare Breed, and Knob Creek my self.
