you can always buy my rig when I get the floor finished next week. heck you can go anywhere with it and stay out as long as supplies last.

yeah? Whatcha got? A 28 Bertram? Don't those all have big V-8's in them?
edit: Oh I just looked up some of your other posts ( the awesome u/w ones from bimini). You got twin outboards on that boat. If we change at this point, it would be either to a World Cat type, or something with a single diesel in the basement.
Thanks for thinking of us, though.

there are some here in national liquidators now... nice new rigs
Quest,
your going to sell your rig? How much do you think your going to be asking?
Gringo,
World Cat or Glacier Bay would be pretty high on my list for a new boat. In Hawaii we don't have that much chop but I have seen cats run in some wind driven chop out here and it looks like they move in slow motion, just cutting gently though the chop, even at full speed and it looks like a real comfortable ride. I've also seen them run in some big swells too with the same observations made-no pounding and just cutting over and though the waves. One of the guys over on the other "West Coast" fishing website/Hawaii forum is taking his Glacier Bay for a trip from Oahu to Molokai and is going to spend a few days exploring the anchorages around Molokai. Here a video of a World Cat running in some wind, chop and waves:

Aloha,
Jonesy
Pretty cool video. Thanks.
I actually think the Contender would do as well or better in those waves. Our issues are not the big waves, it's more the constant chop. Slam slam slam slam slam slam slam slam slam slam....etc. for mile after mile. Four years of it killed off my knees.
Gringo....my wife and I Have been fishing in the sea of Cortez for the last 10 years....and we get some horrible chop...
the displacement hull cat or a Grady White are good choices..
the Cats are a bit tricky to run...and your need to be careful..
but it is a smooth ride..of course that will also give you 2 motors..
the hydraulic seat...won't fit....and they are spendy!!!
don't buy a Parker, whatever you do..
lots of guys on here know more than me...and usually every skipper knows his boat is best...I have gone thru 4 boats in 8 years...and if you are trailering ... I would look very closely at the Grady 23 Gulfstream...it is about 27 foot of boat in a 23 foot length...
we finally went with a 282 Grady sailfish...but that might not work at the ramp where you are..
good luck
the 31 contender has twin engines and IS one of the best rides out there.. and I am not a soap box contender preacher by no means but what a great product even the old hulls. I am repowering one this weekend to new 4 stroke yama 250's.. we just took off the 96 2 stroke 250 yamas yesterday.. by the way we did all the cleaning, selling off the old power, ripping out gauges etc and stuff in 1 day... why do you get a weeks worth of bills at a regular shop??? hahahaha American workers are the best! at least the ones that think!

Hey Gringo
You might want to take a look at our boats. They fit the bill for what you want to do. Cruise effortlessly in 3' chop at 40 mph at 1.4mpg full of fuel. Long range of over 400 miles at speed. Shallow draft of 17" with motors up. Massive amounts of deck space.
I dont care what the guys here say, a 31 contender will in no way ride smooth like a big cat. I will put my money where my mouth is.
The Freeman 33 is a cat that handles more like a mono than your typical cat, but gives the incredible smooth ride and speed and fuel economy to make those long runs. Our customers in the gulf of mexico make 170-200 mile runs daily in 3-4' short chop. The boats are gaining quite a good reputation in the that area.
