First of all what is a tech on an engine? cdail have you checked your distributors and timing, I gaurantee your timing is not sut right or your distribs arent advancing correctly. Something in your timing isnt right, at 3700 your secondaries are already open. Im betting when the engines were put in they were timed incorrectly.

The timing was checked earlier in the year with no issues and everything advancing properly. I ran it this weekend and had a buddy run the boat while I looked at the carbs. He said the tachs got up to 4100 but the carb I was looking at had the secondaries open but the air vent didn't open all the way. I only ran for a short burst because I had a belt slipping and since I am pulling the motors the week of Thanksgiving I wasn't going to go through the hassle of tightening it up. I think it in my tachs but I still haven't found anyone with a phototach yet (I will look harder once I put the new motors in).
