What are the small touches that you'd put in a 48' express fishing boat?

It's the little things that make a custom boat worth the expense and wait.

What would you guys want to have installed in an express fishing boat to make it user friendly?

I'm just looking for the little touches that really matter. Things like large fish box, large fuel tanks, water and ice makers, underwater lights, bow thruster are a given.

Some of the things I've been contemplating are:

Amount of drink holders in the helm area

Red or Blue lights for the helm or cockpit when running at night or reading charts,

Accessible trash holders both in the pit and helm area

Fresh hot water spigot in the cockpit for washing off the pit when done fishing and riding home

Fresh water wash down on the bow for washing down at the dock so we're not dragging a hose all over the place. Manifold for same so freshwater at dockside can be used and plumbed up forward

Overhead concealed and lockable rod storage in the hard top

The boat is a northern boat so hot air directed at the glass wind screen to prevent or clear condensation off.

Fresh water wind screen wash down

How about safety gear storage? I'm thinking about easily accessible helm deck under seat storage for the valise life raft, Gumby suits and vests

    You get the idea.

Anyone have any thoughts to make for a better boat?

Overhead teaser reels built into the hard top..

Get rid of the chair and add a sick leaning post/rocket launcher

rod clusters like for sailfishing on both tower legs.

    rediculous amounts of rod holders
    large livewell
    freezer in the cockpit
outside shower spout for showers or hosing yourself off without a stupid hose
    I like tuna tubes
also fold down seats along the gunwales
cameras all over to catch the action and see while driving
    LED cockpit lights.. MUST HAVE!!

I'd have to say easy access to all things mechanical. make sure that you can get to everything, easily,
you will check it more often, maintain it often and easier, replace and fix it with more ease.
everything breaks and everthing has to be maintained.

things that are hidden, built in, and cramped will never get the attention they need , until they break and then it is a hassle to replace.

sportfishingusa -- The chair has to stay. There's going to be some VIP's butts sitting in it on business related trips. 8 rod holders in the char. Although I'm sure the chair could be stowed and a rocket launcher put in it's place when the hardcore crew is on board. We're going to use a removable live well with quick connect plumbing connections. The shower spout would look silly. Although plumbing it through a tower leg may not be as sill.Tuna Tubes maybe. Camera were a consideration from the beginning. LED's are a must.

algdog -- Everything is planed out so we have access and large hatches to get to it. Good thought!

Shortfin - I've been thinking that through a lot lately. That's a safety concern. I've been on boats where gaff's are left on the deck as fish are being brought in.

nautiduck --- A FLIR system would be sweet and it's on the wish list. ( My birthday is in November if you care to send a present.)

Mikey you have so much of this already thought out but if we peel back everything and just focus on execution...

What is the action plan ?

    Catch fish
    Lots of fish
    Big freakin fish

On a wish list a satellite connection to get updated temp breaks and intel real time would be great

You need all the usual stuff but also need super eyes in da pit and in the tower...so I guess comfortable and strategic rear facing seating plenty of it the more eyes the better

Lots o fish - when it comes time to clear the rods you will need plenty of empty rod holders on the tower legs etc to clear the stern for the fight

Big Freakin Fish....Hey Mike your up!
