Thanks CLT_Capt, I had eliminated the Tides and PSS since I knew they were water cooled. Tank seems to be gravity feeling the seal.

    Mackey,

I've worked with them myself. That is a Norscot Prop Shaft System, made by the Ibsen Co. They are in Seattle,WA. 206-364-2284. I had some experience with the company because of a boat I was working on at the time, ended up being helped by the owner (Herb I think) if I remember right. It is a pretty robust, simple system that work's well. It uses Dexron II ATF for a lubricant (that's what is in the resivoir). People get concerned when the ATF appear's to be getting low, but the system is actually desighned for a pre-determine rate of loss. The bronze shaft gland has 3 seal's that all face aft, this allow's oil to escape while keeping the sea water out. I've got material here at the shop that I can fax to you if needed. Give me a shout if I can help, Frank
