Im not very experienced with downeast hulls but a single caterpillar C18 rated at about 850 hp should do the trick and maybe 800 gallons of diesel should give you your required range

Ask Box what is in the "Run Off" It is a WesMac about that size...

me, i'd put 3 or 4 of those 350 hp 4 stroke yamahas...but then again i like outboards... or just going fast...

Apparently they went with a Lugger 700 Engine Model: L6140A.

I would have opted for a Yanmar 8Y-stp Yanmar 900HP with ZF gear and electronic trolling valve.

I believe the Run-Off has that same 700 HP Lugger in it that the above boat does. Im pretty sure thats what Capt. Brian told me the other day. Cruise at 22 knots in the Run-Off.........

Would roll with a Yanmar or a Volvo would be my choice, but that isn't from experience. Just want to stay away from Cat.......

Think 900hp will get a true 25knot cruise loaded up with fuel water ice bait tackle and gear plus fixed equipment?

i am with fortunate one on this the yanmar 8sy 900hp is what that boat is begging for ...its a fuel efficient light engine for its hp and man does it run when we owned a pair we put about 1200 hrs on them in a little over a year and not a single ounce of trouble
