Any idea what material is this vessel been built of? BTW the engines are the new Scania 13L engines that were released a month ago.

coring - it looks like divinycell...good stuff right there...![]()
Definitely looks like Divinycell H60 in the sides and Penske or Coosa on the stringer tops.
I'm surprised the Scania market isn't larges here in the states.
Hi Fortunate One....Yes,correct,they are the best work horses in that particular HP range as they are used widely in commercial application in Europe/Pacific/Asia due to low revs.Yanmar as you are quite aware sells the same blocks purchased from Scania but with their own electronics. You will see a new 9L block soon which will be a 5 cylinder version (I suspect a range around 500hp @ 2300rpm max) plus the new V8 block which may be bumped up to 900hp,I suspect so your Yanmar in Strad will be most probably be available in approx 1000hp in the near future as Yanmar adds a bit more HP in the same block as compared to Scania. The one in the picture has the new XPI fuel injection system developed with Cummins,USA.The max for the old block was 700hp and the new block has been bumped up till 750hp @ 2300rpm.
BTW,I had suspected it was some type of foam core material but was unsure of which type.
