What do you look for in an offshore boat

i would say the laout of the negine room in a 35 - 40 ft convertible or express is important cuz if u cant reach it or see it u most likely wont service it and that cud lead to major problems down the line or the cost of payin a mechanic to do the job. so wen lookin for ur boat thata should be one of ur major criticques.

this is an awesome point and one that alot of boaters overlook. it is amazing how some boat companys build the boat around the engines and make it nearly impossible to do maintennce. some boats u have to remove stuff like water heater etc.. just to change annual maint.

The books are pricey, but worth every penny if you're serious about buying a well-designed, quality boat. He doesn't talk a lot about fishability, but if you study the articles on the site and the book that fits the type of boat you're looking to buy you'll know almost enough to do your own survey. At least you'll go shopping knowing what you're looking at.
