Wash Down Pumps
It seems my old pump has some prostate like problems. The stream is down to a dribble. Any suggestions on a strong pump for next year that I could just plug & play? I would like it to include the pressure switch instead of having to create all of that too. I really need a good blast for hosing down the tuna blood and rinsing out the plugs before they go on the ice. THX.

We need a little more info like AC or DC, sizes of fittings, mounting space available, baitwell or not.

Bill,
I currently have a Jabsco pump that is connected to the 12 volt batteries directly. The pump is connected directly to the through hole, and the exit is directly to the on deck wash down hose. Pretty straightforward.

You could go with either a Jabsco ParMax 4 (good) or a ParMax Ultra 7.0 (best), either should fit in tha same location and plumbing. They use snap in ports which should also work with your old one. There should be a strainer inline on the intake or at least a strainer scopp on the bottom of the hull to keep debris out of the pump, maybe why yours isn't working now? Make sure your fuses and switch are in good condition and sized properly and when you change it out it is a good idea to replace the hoses and clamps and check the through hull seacock.
