Viking Yachts 82 Convertible

The Viking Yacht Company’s new flagship, the 82 Convertible, is the largest boat in the company’s 44-year history. The yacht is the first Viking to come out of the boat manufacturer’s new building in New Gretna, N.J., specifically built to accommodate larger models in the product line, which ranges from 45 to 82 feet.

The 82 will be formally introduced to the public Feb. 12-16 at the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show.

The first 82 Convertible features five staterooms, including a full beam master suite, an open bridge, and will serve as the company demonstrator during boat shows, fishing tournaments, owner rendezvous and other events. Twelve 82 Convertibles are under contract; the first four have the open bridge, while hulls 5, 6 and 7 will have a climate-controlled enclosed bridge.

Base price with Cat C32A (1,825 mhp) is $5,279,285. Powering with the MTU Series 2000-V16 M93 (2,400 mhp) adds $461,000 to the base price. www.vikingyachts.com

There is a picture on another site of the 82 sitting at the dock with a 61 Viking, it dwarfs the 61. I think the power upgrade is a deal.

Try like $7 million, the engine upgrades are a must with a boat that size unless you want to do 27 knots. Add $200,000 for electronics and another couple hundred thousand for teak, chairs and options and youl be darn close to $7 mill. Not bad compare to an 80 merrit.

what does? or is? 12 vikings under contract

Its been pretty much explained that the deposits or contracts are contingent on them selling their 74 ft or 68 ft or what ever before having to commit to an 82 fter. But it sounds good to have a dozen or so 82 ft ers under contract while most all other boat companys are trying to just survive the economic mess most of the world is experiencing????????? The multi million dollar used viking market is not all that good. just like everything else.

They just don't care! They got so much money it doesent matter if they sell their old boat. The GameOn is one of the new 82 and so is the ALEXIS which the owner is a car dealer His 74 is for sale, which i doubt will sell any timesoon.
