Ouch Jeremy, going for the jugular?
[QUOTE=capt jeremy oc;542139]Reasons as follow
Who has been in business for 45 years? Viking -Gee, we all have to start somewhere. JC just celebrated it's eleventh year building boats.
Who builds there own hull molds? Viking
Who buys someone else's old hull mold and renames them? Jersey Cape - JC can't deny it has taken some really great product and improved upon it. You may not know this but once upon a time, Viking bought Gulfstar and built them under their name. Don't forget princess and San Lorenzo.
Who is an industry leader in product design? Viking- They've worked long and hard to achieve that position. I hope I can say the same after 45 years in the industry.
Who has better service? Viking - I started my career in the marine industry in the service department at Richard Bertram then worked in Service at Viking (a total of 18 years, before JC) I learned from the best and I think you'd be hard pressed to find any JC owners who haven't received excellent service.
What boat would have a better resale value? Viking- There are quite a few more VKY's available then JC's. Different buyer, different market
Who will be in business in 20 years? Viking- The whole marine industry is taking a pretty hard hit right now. I hope we all are here when this thing turns around.
I can go on, buy a Viking. Having spent time fishing both products the Viking is a superior product
Last but now least, this thread started out about the 48's. Your comparing an early model 36' express boat (that did win the MA500) with a 48' convert. You haven't fished on our 48' so forgive me, but I'm not seeing the comparison on this one. [QUOTE]-
I usually don't speak up since everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sometimes you just have to play a little defense.

Mrs... Don't you let him bug you a bit... Let me toss in 2 cents here for a second.
Most on this site know me and know that right now I'm running possibly the slickest old Viking 43 that is on the water. They know I love and am proud to death of that girl... But... And I mean a huge "but"... The Jersey Cape is in every way shape and form far better fit finish and ride than what I have...
The reason there isn't one of those under me in place of the Vike is simple economics. The boss wasn't in position at the time of purchase to reach out for a new boat... We stole the boat we have and have pumped some serious work into it to bring her cherry. Still in no way shape or form can she hold a candle to the product Wayne puts out...
They're both great lines of boats. No question. They are apples and oranges though. Ones custom the other isn't. The Jersey Cape by far has the edge on so many factors I couldn't begin to elaborate... Viking is sharp in its own right but just not the same type machine...
40 yard td in college to win the game with no time left.....
