I've heard of serious gelcoat issues with Viking... that could certainly be an issue at resale.

i don't know squad about JC's but one thing....they are being marketed here in the island since last year....very aggressively i must add.

and for vikings i just must say that they are way wet.......went fishing on a 2001, 50' and the thing has a water tunnel through the bridge....one thing though....they are a damn fast boat!.........but as previously said, the rida was not much more than fair for a boat that size and weight!

I will Not mention any boat brand companies on this thread , but two big name boat companies have a serious cracking gel coat problem! The international law suit against the gel coat manufacturer over seas, was settled in favor of the over seas gel coat company! That means $ 0.00 dollars towards fixing hundreds of boats !!!!!!! To fix this problem the correct way it is over $200,000.00 per/boat and that’s a fact!

I dont know if it would be easyer to sell the Viking. How many are on the market, and how bad is the boat sails industry right now? I would go with the JC.

If I'm not mistaken the issues were between 2000 & 2002, I know a few owners personally and Viking has stepped up and they are taking care of business, they don't run from any issues with their boats, and that is a fact also!!!!

everything i see , i think i would have to give them a shot, namebrands are great. I remember dad buying his first viking in 76, when bertram and hatteras were the name brands. If you build a good product, which i believe jersey cape is doing, people will recognize the quality.

One of the boats manufactures used the bad gel coat --- from 2000 to 2003, the other boat manufacture stop around the end of 2005 or the beginning of 2006! It could be upwards of around 700 boats ???????????
