URGENT: Lee Outrigger Spreader Cable

Anyone in NJ have some braided Lee outrigger spreader cable? We broke another spreader on our rigger and don't want to run it one spreader down. Not big on bending a rigger.

I can drive to a yard to pick up or will pay for overnight shipping. Lee's is not picking up their phone.

Until you can get the part.....

make your own. Turnbuckels are readily available. You have crimed cable for shark rigs haven't you? A set of swags, cable, and turnbuckles from a marine store and you are there.

I have the turnbuckle but Lee cable is larger diameter than any recreational available shark cable.

Albemarle has sent me the cable and crimps in the past but they are on vacation this week.

Try Canyon Club or Viking and I know South Jersey Marina has cables on the shelf. They do mostly Rupps, but you should be able to find something that works.

I'm 99% sure I have some at my shore house in Forked River, but I won't be down there til sometime on Friday. I ordered it years ago when I had to replace some on my Lee outriggers for another boat and had some left over. I remember seeing it a few months ago, just need to locate it again in my mess of a garage. Let me know if you need me to look for it.

I have used Sevenstrand 49 on my Lees in a pinch before and it held up for years.

Get some crimps and splice in a repair in the meantime. Loosen the turnbuckle. Crimp in your splice and re-tighten. I have made this repair offshore, It will def hold until you get your new cable
