    Underwater lights, Who's using what

I'm at the point where I need to start to seriously think about underwater lights.

I was wondering who's using what and what their experience has been.

I've been leaning towards Ocean LED's 3010 Super Blue LED's.

Anyone have any experience with these or any comparable models?

    Mike-

I've done LOTS of research on this subject and IMO you have found the best on the market with the OceanLED 3010's.

A dock mate of mine put IMTRA UW lights on his boat and has has nothing but problems for the last two seasons. He's gone through three or four sets of the IMTRAs.

    Thanks James,

I looked at the Imtra lights but I went back to the Ocean LED product. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Imtra products but it seems like Ocean LED has this down pat.

I wasn't sure if there was another brand that I should look at.

    Just checking all options.

Ocean LED is the top of the line. I really did like there new product.

The Amphibian LED looks very good. I really liked how small the hole size needs to be.

    Good luck with the selection.

Does anyone have experience on the blue vs. the green? Are different bait fish attracted to different colors?

    Sweet Caroline,

It's my understanding that the Blue lights are the best for fish attracting.

Go to the Ocean LED web site they have some good video.

In researching underwater lights, I discovered the Shadow-Caster LED lights. I was so impressed that we are now a dealer for them.
They are relatively new to the market and the parent company is in the scientific instrument industry. These lights are built to a standard that far exceeds what we have grown accustom to the boating industry.
One of the things that appealed to me most was the fact that you only have to drill a 7/64th inch hole for the power. The housing in stainless steel and the output is unbelievable. The manufacture offers a two year warranty and estimates the LED life at 40,000 hours.
I know this a shameless plug for something we sell, but the only reason we sell them is because we were so impressed with the product. By the way they only cost $599.99 per fixture.
Check them out at our website, www.binnacletackle.com or www.shadow-caster.com
