    Ultimate 21ft Center Console

I realize that every person has their own opinion and that no boat is perfect, that being said what do you think is the best 21ft center console out there?

My dad and I are looking to sell our 18ft cc and move up to a 21ish. What boats have people had experience with? I have started looking at regulator, contender, bluewater, but I'm sure there are many more out there, and I have very limited experience with the boats listed above as well. I have only been in a 21 contender...

I'm looking for a boat I can fish hard. Speed is not my concern nearly as much as being good in a chop, well thought out layout, fishability, and how it handles. Also needs to handle weight well. So what are your thoughts? Boat will be used for commercial fishing up to 15 miles offshore, but will often be run 40+ miles in each direction to get there... Lots of nightime fishing as well, so as you can imagine the 18 wasnt optimal... Any and all advice is appreciated.

I would check out one of the Mirage rigs I have ran one and they are one of the baddest center consoles I have been on in that range, very economical also and the carolina flare in the bow cuts right through the chop.

Commercial striper mainly, maybe some others as well but mostly stripers. Will also be doing some tuna fishing, but the weight thing there isnt as important. If its heavy it will be dragged home.

But for weight, its usually 200-600 lbs split between the front and the back. Hopefully more some times, I would say with ice and cooler weight could be up to 1000, and even though thats not very likely, I want to the boat to have the potential.

The winter is nice but way out of the budget. Im not really concerned with it looking like a ferrari either. Its going to be commercial fishing, so its can be pretty simple... And the mirage isnt my favorite. The console is way too far back for me, theres no cockpit....

Hey fortunamate, not bad, but not what i'm looking for. Forward seating kills way too much space and is out of the question.

But ill change the question to 23 FT and under. And i'm just looking for input here. If someone says "i took a ride on XYZ 21 last year and it was the worst ride of my life," that's just as important.

I appreciate the comments so far guys please keep them coming...

I've owned an older mako 21, and a 21 sailfish. I've also ridden on Contenders and Regulators in that size.

The mako was a tank, but slow for the horsepower. The Contenders are fast and nice ride.

Slip Slidin and Seabisquit own 21 Contenders, they may be able to help

Canyon Junkie You cant go wrong with this choice And Bo is a top rated striper guide along with building an excellent boat. So stripers will feel at home visiting this boat.
