Use a "scotchbrite" pad and/or a mild abrasive cleaner like "Bar Tenders friend" (won't scratch) then follow up with a coat of Alumiguard.

use flitz to remove the rust, then a coat of collinite insulator wax.don't use the scotchbrite,it wont scratch it but it will dull iy out a little bit.

On the transducer, find a plastic putty knife to scrap growth.Anything else will scrach the ducer's face. This is one of those things that must be done monthly.
