Trying to decide between a 24 key west and a 24 sea hunt

I am trying to decide between a 24 ft Key west and a 24 ft sea hunt. I am leaning toward the key west but the sea hunt comes with a lot more features standard. One thing that makes me wonder about the sea hunt is even though the sea hunt is almost the same weight it is rated at a max hp of 250 and the key west is rated at a max hp of 300. I am wondering if that means that the sea hunt has a weaker hull. Any advise?

I have been checking the Key West 24 out also, go on the KW website and watch the hull construction videos. I have a Sea Hunt 202 and I wish the hull was built like the KW. Every inch of dead space in the hull and sides is foam filed for stiffness and noise reduction. Not on the SH's. My little boat has been alot of places that it probally didn't belong but the hull has takin alot of abuse and held up though. Unless there is a strong cross wind the SH is very dry but it will pound the tar out of you.

I haven't been able to get on a Key Wesy 24 yet but I like the lay out. I think the SH has a better quality t top frame and I believe they offer a hard top option.

Now I can't say much about the 24 KW but if it is anything like the the KW 211 than it is a rock solid boat with a great dry ride for its size. A friend of mine has the 211 which the 24 was based off of and the modified step hull makes the boat ride smooth and soft. When he first got the boat we were surprised at how well the boat road, in a solid 3ft. chop we were running almost 30 mph and the only spray was from the wind blowing it back on us. Good Luck with the search but my vote goes to the key west and also KW has great with the one warranty issue he had and they took care of it fast with no hassle at all.

More often then not the HP limit can be set by the builders insurance company, From what I have learned. 250 hp is a ton for a 24' boat in that weight class, it will move very well with 200hp. the old out run a storm thing does not wash because when things are going from bad to put on life jackets you can't run that fast anyway.
