Triton 351

Gents please help me I'm on my knee's... I've got a 351 Triton and need to know if this vessel has any flotation build in to the hull.

I'm in South Africa and are not getting much joy from the importer and unfortunately have to comply to the South African Marine safety act which states that I should be able to prove that there is a flotation capabilaty of 60% in craft.

OR

Buy a life raft, frankly this is not an option for me because the freaken life raft has to be bolted to the roof....

I am very sure that the vessel has flotation build in to it but need some type of direction or documentation as to how much and where it is positioned.

If anybody has a buddy at Triton that can help it would be greatly appreciated... I have checked out the Europian standards that this boat complies to but it does not stipulate the qauntity of flotation.

Please gentlemen I'm very desperate...

I looked over all the information that I have as a dealer, and no where, in anything i have, are there any specifications for the amount of flotation that the 351 actually has inside the hull.But, I can tell you from experience that all the empty places below the deck are foam filled as well as all the fishboxes, livewells,stringer system and the transome is made from high density foam that is extremely strong as well as being flotation. The only suggestion i have for you is to contact the factory directly and ask them for help.Just go to tritonboats.com and then click on contact there are several ways to get in touch with them through their website...Best of Luck!!!

Charl....sorry no immediate or easy answer but Martek is my man for this type of stuff. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I can assure you mine has had no floatation issues....only bloody deck issues!!

I have stuck my head in all the holes and places and found some foam but one cant calculate the amounts thus no calculation for the fotation. I had some indepth arguments with Our safety guy's in SA buy I understand there concern aswell.

I have gone ahead and spent the money and got a 8 man Raft.
