I am upgrading my electronics including changing my thru hull transducer. Are there any "tricks of the trade" in removing the old transducer?

It should be pretty straightforward. I just pulled two out of my boat and it was just the expected unbolting and knocking them loose. If the installer used 3M 5200 you might have some difficulty. A putty knife can sometimes be tapped between the 'ducer and the hull which may cut the sealer. There's a product called Anti-Bond 2015 that will break down urethane based adhesives. If you have problems you may want to look at that.
I hope this helps and it's good to see that you're pulling out the old ones. My boat had three and only one was connected to anything. I guess it's easier for "yard 'tards" to drill a new hole in a hull than it is to pull an old transducer out and use an existing hole.![]()
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
Thanks for the info Avenger. It looks like 5200 so I think I'll get the Anti-Bond that you recommended.
Come on in look around stay a while. Stocking a full line of transducers and Marine electronics.
