TRANSDUCER QUESTION

What does everyone do to prevent growth/barnicles on transducers?

I brush the transducer lightly when I scrub the scum line, but still can't get everything off- especially when the boat sits in the water all season. My one transducer has the speed wheel on it and it stops spinning from the growth build up. My depth finder doesn't read correctly with the crap on it also.

What do the commercial boats do also, since they sit in the water all the time?

Please tell me the secret!

Thanks,

Barry

No secrete here!
I was a commercial BFT fisherman. And we would paint the transducer with transducer anti fouling paint. That would help but we would still have to dive down and clean it by hand. But if you can reach it with a brush cleaning regularly before the growth gets a foothold will probably work well.
