Great pieces, I have 2 a ss164 and a ss264 50hrz
Airmar's are by far the best ducer maker out there.
The M260 on the SB switchbox with the SS264W 50khz will give you the ultimate
Following up our last discussion this is what I plan to do
I run one with my garmin gsd22 digital sounder and it works well. Got mine from BOE
i do miss the paddle wheel for slow trolling for bass though.
yachtjim,
Different beast, same topic.
I have a Raymarine A65 combo unit and would love to install the (BOE part#) B60-20-A on my 23' Welcraft Excel. The A65 uses the DSM25 for the fishfinding. Is the transducer a direct plug into my unit or do I need an adapter cable. (The transducer says its a 600 watt unit and my DSM25 is a 500 watt unit).
The transom on this boat is stepped for the last 12 inches of the hull and it makes the transom mount transducer non functional at speed, but it works fine at troll and idle. It is fun to watch, the more throttle you give her, the slower the speed reads on the fishfinder (but GPS SOG goes up)
I would like to upgrade the transducer, but don't want a fairing block as I trailer this boat from time to time and these new tilted elements look like a great new product.
The new airmar 164 is the ticket for you. Compact, Dual freq. and 1 kw.
How much "abuse" can that B60 transducer take ??
Trailer rollers, boat yard fork etc etc ?
Lsider-dont you mean the 200khz model? Airmar doesnt say anything about using the 50khz with a switchbox. Does certainly sound like the ultimate!!!! I'm still in the dilema with deciding which one; M260 inhull or the 1kw tilted element.
