Once again I was called to a boat that wouldn't run. First thing I saw was the "how to be your own marine diesel mechanic" book, turned to the fuel injection section. With the help of a "little" bit of knowledge, he just took out his injection pump. I think that if I ever end up in court with a false bank robbery charge, I'm just gonna tell the judge "I don't need no stinkin defense attorney, I got this here book"! Of course then I get the same old complaint, how come it cost's so much. Stupid ain't cheap! Frank

But having it done right the first time is...

I told he person that is putting my new motor in my SUV, that if he finds a soft hose or a week belt to replace it, better to do it while the engine is on the floor than when it is back on the truck and I'm on the side of the road, wondering why I did not get him to do it while it was out. May cost me more now but priceless later...

90% of the problems with the little injection pumps in generators are caused by the owner taking them apart because they look simple. While they're not terribly complex there's some details to be aware of, or they suddenly become expensive. BTW, most of the time the real problem is that they're airbound. And the little so-n-so's are a ***** to bleed.
